Local Arts Councils
Queensland Arts Council supports 60 Local Arts Councils (LACs). Each LAC is largely volunteer-run and made up of that community's tireless arts and culture champions. They encourage artistic expression, provide opportunities for participation in cultural experiences in many forms and act as a catalyst for making their community a dynamic and vital place to live.
Queensland Arts Council works to provide each LAC with the support, advice and resources that they need, as well as access to live performing arts, visual arts and arts education.
Local Arts Councils are staffed by volunteers and arts administrators whom encourage artistic expression and provide opportunities for participation in cultural experiences and community collaboration. Local Arts Councils are independently incorporated bodies that, through their affiliation to Queensland Arts Council, bring the world of the arts to their regions.
