I Can't Believe It's Not Opera! is a comedic glance at the Operatic art form. Through the use of both verbal and physical humour audiences will learn the basis plot devices and cues that can make even the most incomprehensible compositions comprehensible.... comprehend?  I Can't Believe It's Not Opera combines a variety of well known operatic arias with an easy to follow narrative to produce a fun-filled show audiences will never forget.

Charismatic crooners...sultry songstresses...mind-bending maestros...all presented in a bravura program of dazzling diversity.  The multi-award winning Brisbane Cabaret Festival's The A to Z of Cabaret celebrates this dynamic and popular art form with music exotic and eclectic, cracking comedy and drastically dramatic divas.  The audience is taken on a vibrant musical journey from the cafes of Paris to the clubs of Berlin, the Music Halls of London and the glamorous Las Vegas showrooms by an ensemble of Queensland's finest cabaret performers and musicians. Music of Cole Porter, Peter Allen, Billie Holiday, Shirley Bassey, Frank Sinatra, Gracie Fields, Jacques Brel and Maurice Chevalier and more offers something for everyone from all generations and diverse musical tastes and all wrapped up in one memorable night out where fabulous music and entertainment are the main ingredients

Gods of Spicy Things               Leichhardt Centre             Sunday 30th August


Gods of Spicy Things is the story of two Hindu Gods, two unsuspecting mortals, and a contest of love - Bollywood style! Leela, a magazine writer seeking exotic adventures and Chris, a slick London advertising guru visiting his Indian homeland to scatter his mother's ashes are thrown together by the gods and taken on an unexpected journey. It is a colourful, mystical romp through India with all the elements of a Bollywood hit movie - romance, fate, family, a hint of pathos and a good dose of singing and dancing. A divine comedy about the beautiful contradiction that is India, starring Sue Hayes and Christopher Glover.

Mixing young ambition with fine classical music, Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University's award-winning ensemble will present a performance that music buffs and classical first-timers will love. The ensemble are the 2009 winners of the Gertrude Langer Ensemble Award, Queensland Arts Council's esteemed accolade which each year selects one of the Conservatorium's most talented ensembles, launching their professional touring and recording careers with a debut Queensland tour.
